What makes radiator covers anti-ligature?

Small grilles, radius corners and internal fixings all contribute to the anti-ligature properties of our radiators.

Whilst it is scientifically impossible to remove all ligatures from certain appliances, our Anti-ligature radiators are manufactured to ensure a greatly reduced risk of self-harm or suicide for vulnerable Service Users.

Here are some of the anti-ligature features of our Anti-ligature radiator covers:

1. Contour Anti-Ligature grilles exceed IP3X standards (BS EN 60529). These tests confirm that the ingress of items greater than 2.5mm is impossible.
2. Contour anti-ligature radiator covers are fitted with internal fixings so that there are no exposed access or ligature points.
3. To avoid injury all Contour Anti-Ligature radiator covers are designed with radius corners to minimise risks in the case of a service user falling against a unit.
4. Anti-Ligature radiator covers are one-piece constructions that can be installed on site quickly and seamlessly to minimise disruption to your environment.
